To my fellow Brockton community members,

My name is Luz Villar, and I’m honored to announce my candidacy for Mayor of the City of Brockton.

Brockton is a city with a proud legacy. Known as the “City of Champions” we are built by fighters, innovators, immigrants, and working-class families who poured their strength into making this city thrive. Born in Brockton to an immigrant parent, I was raised to believe that our experiences, especially the challenges, shape us into stronger, more compassionate leaders.

During my time at Boston City Hall and Capitol Hill, I’ve partnered with community leaders and elected officials on all levels of government to advance policies that protect the people. I know what it means first-hand when systems fail and I am an example of the power of what’s possible when a community steps up. I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Cambridge College and my Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University. I am back home now and ready to lead my home town. But…
